Contex large format scanner calibration sheets are used to ensure accurate colour reproduction when scanning images or documents. Calibration sheets contain a range of colours that help the scanner accurately capture and reproduce colours.
After scanning the calibration sheet, the resulting image can be tweaked using software to colour match the sheet. Fine tuning can also be made to brightness and contrast levels.
Calibration is critical because it allows the image results to be balanced for your computer and scanner combination. If you switch the computer or the scanner that you use, you must calibrate again for quality results. Should the quality of you scanned document diminish cleaning the scanner and calibrating again would be recommended.
