Plustek ePhoto z300 Photo Scanner

I needed to be able to scan old photos and documents quickly and carefully. The z300 does just that. The 300dpi option is incredibly quick and this resolution is easily high enough for my purpose. Nice to have the 600dpi option too, though. The scanning process at 600dpi is... half the speed (makes sense) but still very quick. I am scanning old photos and the feed seems very considerate - it doesn't grab and run and so far I have not seen any damage to the photos. Simple to set up and so far it has worked exactly as promised. It can scan up to A4 width but its design means it takes up a fraction of the desk space a flatbed scanner would. The blue and white colour is refreshing - a bit like having a very small swimming pool on my desk. What a sensible change from the standard shiny black finish that someone somewhere (who has never had to dust anything in his or her entire life) decided was the go-to look for office equipment. The Scanner Shop's service was exemplary. Absolutely no hitches and, as I ordered before 2pm on a Thursday, my scanner landed on my doorstep the next day before noon. It came well-padded in a cardboard box now happily adopted by my cat, so satisfaction on many levels.

So far I'm quite impressed. If you scan at 300dpi it's so quick you almost can't stick the photos in fast enough. At 600bpi it's quite a bit slower but obviously the picture quality is higher. That being said both settings produce good quality scans. Win win, especially when you consider the price !
